Car Rider Procedures and Guidelines

Parents who bring their children to school or pick them up after school must use the Cruse Road entrance. Cars are routed through the parking lot, where school personnel assist children safely.

Please do not line up before 7:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. as doing so blocks the drive for staff and visitors attempting to use the side parking lot.

No vehicles may enter the bus loading zone (Old Norcross entrance) between 7:45–8:15 a.m. and 2:15–3:15 p.m. daily.

If you plan to drive your child to school in the mornings or pick them up in the afternoons, please review the following Car Rider Guidelines.

All procedures are designed to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and families.

General Reminders:

  • Cell phone use is not permitted during drop-off or pick-up.
  • Do not pass other vehicles while in the car rider line.
  • Remain in your vehicle at all times.
  • Please refrain from honking your horn.

Morning Drop-Off (Route marked in yellow on the attached map)

  • Do not drop students off in the front parking lot or on the street. It is unsafe for students to cross traffic or the bus lane.
  • Pull all the way forward to the next available space before allowing your child to exit.
  • Students should exit from the passenger side nearest the sidewalk.
  • If your child needs assistance exiting the vehicle, please turn on your hazard lights to signal staff.
  • Supervised drop-off ends at 8:15 a.m. Doors will be locked at that time.
  • Classes begin at 8:15 a.m. Students not in class by then are marked tardy.
  • At 8:10 a.m., the final car allowed in the turn lane will be noted by the supervising staff member. Any car arriving after this will be directed to park in the side lot and walk the student to the side door (before 8:15) or front office (after 8:15) for check-in.
  • No left turns are allowed when exiting the parking lot.

Afternoon Pick-Up (Route marked in yellow on the attached map)

  • Car rider tags must be displayed. Without a tag, you will be required to park and enter the front office with a valid ID to pick up your child. If you are a new car rider parent or have lost your tag, please stop by the front office  immediately to request a replacement.
  • Do not line up before 2:30 p.m.
  • No left turns are allowed when exiting the parking lot.
